The focus of painting is usually adding paint to a surface, but I also concentrate on how I can then remove that paint from my surface to properly express the texture and intricacy that I see. My works typically involve some sort of etching, scoring, or engraving on the surface of the paint.

My hope is for my paintings to convey to you all of the tranquility, complexity, and beauty that I feel when I’m creating them.
